Polyglyceryl-3 polyricinoleate (PGPR) is BDIH-compliant and is considered to be very well tolerated by the skin. This colorless to yellow, viscous liquid is a W/O emulsifier. In this role, it can be used to create W/O emulsions with a water content of up to 80%. In addition, thanks to its high stability against oxidation, Dermofeel PGPR is very well suited for sunscreen formulations. This emulsifier produces W/O emulsions that tend to have low viscosity. For creams and sunscreen formulations, the addition of 1–5% consistency-enhancing co-emulsifiers is therefore highly recommended.
