The food-grade polyglyceryl-3 polyricinoleate (PGPR) is BDIH-compliant and is considered very well tolerated by the skin. The colorless to yellow viscous liquid is a W/O emulsifier. In this capacity, it can enable W/O emulsions with a water content of up to 80%. In addition, Dermofeel PGPR is very suitable for sunscreen formulations thanks to its high stability against oxidation. W/O emulsions with rather low viscosity are obtained with this emulsifier. Therefore, for creams and sunscreen formulations the addition of 1 - 5 % consistency-giving co-emulsifiers is highly recommended.
Use concentration:
3 - 6 %
HLB:

Processing:
Polyglyceryl-3 polyricinoleate (PGPR) is melted with the oil phase and emulsified with the water phase at 75-80°C. However, this emulsifier is also suitable for cold-stirred emulsions.
