Polyglyceryl-2 Sesquioleate (GO Soft) is a W/O emulsifier for various water-in-oil formulations with exceptionally elegant textures. It adds a lighter touch to all W/O emulsions; the emulsions feel almost as light as an O/W (oil-in-water) emulsion but are still nourishing and protective like a W/O emulsion. Formulations with polyglycerol-2 sesquiplane (GO Soft) are easy to apply, absorb very well, and leave the skin feeling soft.
 
You can use Polyglyceryl-2 Sesquioleate (GO Soft) as the sole emulsifier in W/O emulsions or as a co-emulsifier in both W/O and O/W emulsions.
 
The naturally derived, highly viscous liquid is based on sunflower and rapeseed oil and is, therefore, palm oil-free!
 
Polyglyceryl-2 Sesquioleate (GO Soft) is suitable for natural cosmetics.
 
Application concentration:
As sole emulsifier in W/O emulsions: 2.0 - 4.0 % (do not use more than 5 % vegetable oils here!).
As co-emulsifier in W/O emulsions: 0.5 - 2.0 %.
As co-emulsifier in O/W emulsions: 0.5 - 1.0 %.

Processing:
 
To ensure that you obtain a stable emulsion, you should proceed as follows:
 
1. recipe planning:
 
Water phase A should contain glycerin or another glycol (e.g. Pentylene Glycol Green) and about 1% sodium chloride or magnesium sulfate.
For oil phase B, plan to add consistency enhancers (cetyl palmitate and/or Hydrogenated Rapeseed Oil Palm Oil Free (Viscolid) and/or beeswax or sunflower wax).
Add 0.5 - 1 % magnesium stearate to the oil phase B1.
 
Further stabilization is achieved by adding co-emulsifiers (Glyceryl Mono Oleate (PO) or Polyglyceryl-3 Polyricinoleate (PGPR)).
 
 
2. Procedure:
 
In oil phase B1, dissolve the magnesium stearate in a stable oil (neutral oil or squalane) at about 115 °C.
Add the components of oil phase B including the polyglycerol-2 sesquiplane (GO Soft) to oil phase B1 and heat everything to 70-80 °C.
Heat the water phase A to 70-80 °C as well.
Slowly add the water phase to the oil phase while stirring.
After finishing the addition, homogenize everything briefly at high speed.
