A fermentation process in a defined nutrient medium under controlled conditions (pH, temperature, time) releases unique peptides that provide broad-spectrum antimicrobial protection while moisturizing and conditioning the skin and hair. The lactic acid bacteria used for this purpose, which are traditionally used to ferment milk into yogurt, are removed from the ferment by filtration after fermentation. The fermentation filtrate is salicylate-free.

Leucidal® SF Complete is a 75/25 mixture of the Lactobacillus fermentation product known as Leucidal® SF Liquid and a ferment from the coconut fruit with Lactobacillus (AMTicide® Coconut). The latter is standardized to at least 0.5 % lipoproteins and represents a skin-friendly and antifungal multifunctional product. AMTicide® Coconut is thus an ideal complement to Leucidal® SF Liquid, which shows weaknesses, especially in the protection against yeasts and molds.

Leucidal® SF Complete is palm oil-free and suitable for natural cosmetics.

 

Conclusion:

With Leucidal® SF Complete you get a practical antimicrobial protection that prevents not only the growth of bacteria but also that of yeasts and moulds.

 

Note:

Please bear in mind that due to the cationic nature of the peptides, incompatibilities with anionic compounds (e.g. xanthan gum, hyaluronic acid) may occur. Any turbidity that occurs, as a result, can be reversed by using solubilizers.

 

Furthermore, a too high salt content (approx. 10 %) can limit the efficiency/effectiveness of this preservative system.

2 - 4 % (recommended 4 %)

Effective in pH range between 3 and 8 (recommended pH 5).

 

Incorporation:

Stir into the cooled emulsion before adding an anionic gelling agent such as xanthan gum (note: product is stable at 70°C for approx. 8 h).

Dark, at room temperature; do not freeze!
