Lauryl glucoside is a non-ionic surfactant. Like coco glucoside and decyl glucoside, it is a sugar surfactant and belongs to the group of alkyl poly glucosides (APG), which are among the most skin-friendly surfactants. They have in common a high substantivity to keratin and a high cleansing power.

Formulated from glucose (maize starch) and fatty alcohols (C12 - C16), it is 100 % of plant origin, easily biodegradable, and ecologically harmless. The mild sugar surfactant can be used as a base and co-surfactant. As a non-ionic surfactant, it is compatible with other surfactants. Compared to the other sugar surfactants, the pasty lauryl glucoside has a thickening effect. It is therefore recommended as a co-surfactant for formulations that are difficult to thicken. Its foaming power, on the other hand, is less pronounced. However, it helps to increase the foam volume in less foaming formulations.

Lauryl glucoside does not require any additional preservation. Please note that the pH value is adjusted to 11.5 - 12.5.

Lauryl glucose is suitable for natural cosmetic formulations.
