The clear, yellowish-reddish wild rose oil is obtained through high-pressure extraction using naturally occurring carbon dioxide and is stabilized with rosemary antioxidants. It is rich in linoleic acid (41–59%, C 18:2), alpha-linolenic acid (20–35%, C 18:3), and oleic acid (12–22%, C 18:1). It also contains traces of carotenoids and tocopherols.
 
This high content of unsaturated fatty acids makes the oily extract of rosehip seeds highly recommended for dry, flaky skin. The rosehip seed CO₂ extract significantly contributes to skin regeneration and is used as a nourishing ingredient in moisturizers and anti-aging products. It is also highly valued for the care of scars.
