Thyme oil (botanical name: Thymus vulgaris) is obtained by steam distillation from the flowering herb of thyme. The faint yellow essential oil has a very herbaceous scent that harmonises well with citrus notes or rosemary. In perfumery, it is a base or heart note. Thanks to its calming and antibacterial effect, it is not only used as a fragrance, but often also in mouthwashes, dental care and disinfectants. This thyme oil is naturally pure.
