Rokonsal BSB-N is a viscous liquid in which the three preservative substances benzyl alcohol, benzoic acid, and sorbic acid are dissolved in glycerin. Rokonsal is a broad-spectrum preservative that is well tolerated by the skin, BDIH compliant, and Ecocert certified. The pH of the formulation must be below 5.4. Otherwise, Rokonsal loses its effectiveness. In aqueous surfactant-based formulations and O/W emulsions, Rokonsal BOD-N is stirred in at the end, but before the pH adjustment. In W/O emulsions, Rokonsal is dissolved in the water phase before emulsification. It is temperature stable up to 80°C.
