Montano 68 MB– High-quality O/W emulsifier for stable, skin-friendly emulsions
 
Montanov 68 MB is a versatile, non-ionic O/W emulsifier based on cetearyl alcohol and cetearyl glucoside. Due to its particularly skin-friendly properties, it is considered non-irritating and non-comedogenic, making it ideal for demanding skincare formulations – from light lotions to rich creams.

 Liquid-crystalline structures enable high water binding and delayed release on the skin.

However, practical experience suggests that a pinch of transparent xanthan gum should be added to further improve the stability and feel of the formulation.
 
Special formulation properties:
Montano 68 MB forms a characteristic liquid-crystalline system in which water is bound, like in a reservoir. Upon application, this water is gradually released, ensuring a long-lasting conditioning effect and a pleasantly soft skin feel.


The emulsifier prefers high-speed stirring, for example with a hand blender, to create a particularly fine and stable emulsion.
 
Processing recommendation:
 
 
Fat phase - melt completely.
 
 
Heat the fat and water phases to 75–80 °C (80 °C usually provides the best stability). 
 
 
Emulsify using the one-pot method and stir at high speed. 
 
 
Optional: Incorporate xanthan gum transparently to further stabilize the formulation.
