Hamamelis is also known as witch hazel. Its anti-inflammatory, anti-itching, and disinfecting properties make it ideal for cracked, sensitive, large-pored, brittle, and irritated skin. The distillate is astringent and has a soothing and revitalizing effect on the skin. It is therefore recommended as a partial or complete replacement for water in shampoos, aftershaves, or deodorants. It can also be incorporated into shower gels, creams, and body lotions.
