Edelweiss - one of the most famous flowers of the Alpine world - is cultivated for this extract at a high altitude. In this location, under increased exposure to UV radiation, the edelweiss develops an extraordinarily high oxidation-inhibiting effect and the ability to bind free radicals. Responsible for this is a mix of active ingredients with a high content of tannins, flavonoids, phenylpropane, and hydroxycinnamic acid derivatives, such as the antioxidant chlorogenic acid. Edelweiss extract is recommended for anti-aging concepts, sun protection - or after-sun formulations, or day creams.
