Decyl Glucoside is a non-ionic surfactant. Like coco glucoside and lauryl glucoside, it is a sugar surfactant and belongs to the group of alkyl polyglucosides (APG), which are among the most skin-compatible surfactants. They have in common a high substantivity to keratin as well as a high cleansing power.

Formulated from glucose (corn starch) and vegetable fatty alcohols (C8 - C14), it is 100% of vegetable origin, easily biodegradable, and therefore ecologically safe. The mild sugar surfactant can be used as a base and co-surfactant. As a non-ionic surfactant, it is compatible with other surfactants. In contrast to the other sugar surfactants, decyl glucoside has a less thickening effect on the formulation but is superior to them in its foaming capacity.

Decyl Glucoside does not require any additional preservation. Please note that the pH of Decyl Glucoside is adjusted to 11.5 - 12.5. Decyl glucose is suitable for natural cosmetic formulations.
