Cistroses were extremely popular in ancient times because of their intense, warm, balsamic, and mysterious fragrance. This scent comes from the aromatic substances in the resin of the cistus leaves - the flowers hardly have any scent. This cistus water is not a by-product of oil production - it is of special quality since one liter of this hydrolate is distilled from one kilo of plant material from controlled organic cultivation without the addition of preservatives. Due to its numerous positive effects on the skin, cistus water can be used in many ways. Thus, it shows a caring, firming, nourishing, antioxidant, and cleansing effect in the care of mature skin. But also young, especially problematic skin (eg acne) benefits from the soothing effect on itching and inflammation. Cistus is also known for its healing power - the astringent, decongestant, and wound healing properties recommend it for use on insect bites. The care of neurodermitic skin conditions or psoriasis (psoriasis) can support the cistrose water.
Cistrose water is also used on animals (especially horses and dogs) to treat wounds or to care for skin irritations and inflammatory skin conditions.
