This is the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is biotechnologically obtained and has a molecular weight of 1.5 MDa (high molecular weight) and 50 kDa (low molecular weight). Its excellent film-forming properties and its ability to bind water make sodium hyaluronate an effective active ingredient to reduce transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and thus improve skin tone and elasticity.
For an optimized effect, it is recommended to use low and high-molecular weight hyaluronic acid in combination.
Processing:
The powdered hyaluronic acid is slowly worked into (hand) warm water while stirring. Or disperse in a little alcohol (from 70 % by volume) or glycerine (from 99 %), then add the water phase. If necessary, leave to stand for several hours (e.g. overnight).
